Seedance, from ByteDance, makes video from text, frames or references, with sound. Seedance 2.5 is the most capable. The Seedance 2.0 models are older and cost less.

What you can give it

  • A prompt on its own.
  • Frames: a start frame, and an optional end frame. Frames can’t be combined with references.
  • References: images, videos and MP3 audio.
    • Seedance 2.5 takes up to 50: 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips. Videos and audio can each run 2 to 30 seconds, 30 seconds in all.
    • Seedance 2.0 models take up to 10: 9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio clips, with up to 15 seconds of video. Audio needs an image or video beside it.
With references, Video mode chooses what Seedance does with them: Reference media, Edit video or Extend video. Edit and extend need a reference video. See Make a video. Seedance refuses a recognizable person in a reference that isn’t marked as a real person. See Mark a real person.
