# Upload

> Add files and folders to the Library, and skip duplicates.

Anyone in your organization can upload images, video and audio to a project's
Library, to use as references or to keep with the project's work. Any image,
video or audio file is accepted, such as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, MP4, MOV, WAV or
MP3, up to 5 GiB each. Other kinds of file are refused.

## Upload files

1. In the Library, open the folder you want the files in. If no folder is
   open, they go to **Unfiled**.
2. Choose **Upload** and pick your files. You can also drag files anywhere
onto the Library, or paste them.

Uploads land in the folder you started them in, even if you open another one
while they finish.

## Upload a folder

Choose **Upload folder**, or drag a folder onto the Library. ZeroGen keeps its
subfolders and puts each file in its matching folder. One folder upload can
hold up to 1,000 files in 100 folders. Hidden files are skipped.

If the Library already has a folder with the same name, choose whether to
merge into it or keep both.

## Follow your uploads

A progress bar and counter show how far along your uploads are. Expand it to
see each file.

* Uploads keep going while you use other parts of ZeroGen. Your browser warns
you before you close or reload the tab.
* Choose **Stop** for files that are still waiting, then **Retry** failed or
  stopped files.
* If your connection drops, waiting files hold until it returns.
* Finished uploads clear on their own. Errors stay until you dismiss them.

## Duplicates

If your project already has the same upload, ZeroGen uses the one it has
instead of adding a copy. The upload list says it's **Already in your
Library**, names the existing file and links to its folder. If you uploaded
into a folder, the existing file is added to that folder too, and it stays in
its other folders.

ZeroGen compares file contents, not names, and only with other uploads in the
same project. An edited file, or a file that's only in another project or in
**Recently deleted**, uploads as a new file.
